In this thesis, a LED driver chip XDJ1303based on new type of PWM drivingtechnology is designed. The chip has a high refresh rate that can reach up to1920Hz.Aiming at the disadvantage of low refresh rate for traditional PWM driving technology,a novel weight exchanging algorithm is proposed in the new type of PWM drivingtechnology, which makes the picture that displayed once before divided into severaltimes to display, and then the refresh rate of LED panel is improved. This avoids thechattering phenomenon of LED panel that caused by low refresh rate in some specialoccasions such as stage backgrounds used for TV studio. Meanwhile, as the refresh rateof the novel algorithm is adjustable, the chip can satisfy requirements in differentapplication environments.A reset function is designed in the chip XDJ1303, which can prevent misoperationof the chip; a6bits DAC is included in the chip, which realizes the adjustment of thedrive current across the chip; besides, a gray clock frequency detection module is builtin the chip to ensure its working stability.Based on a process of0.5μm5V-20V BCD, the chip is designed and simulatedthrough Hsim. The simulation results show that the chip meets the requirements ofdesign.
