With the rapid development of Internet technology, the audience for the social network becomes bigger and bigger, and deep into the every corner of our life. The form of social network is becoming diversity increasingly. Blog, weibo, BBS and so on all have a lot of customers, and in recent years, lighting blog and image social network sites came into our vision. Social networking allows users to publish long or short words, pictures, or videos, to share and communicate with other users. When users share something which is not original but from other site web page, or find something which is worth of collecting, he or she has no other good method but sharing the link of the web page or copying the content. How to provide users a method or a tool that can gathering the content of a web page to publish or collect is a problem that deserve attention from social network.By conjoint analysis of the current multiple types of social networking sites and problem and traditional methods that users used to collect and publish web content, this paper proposes a method based on dynamic loading script functions by pages, and then realize a clippings tool using this method. With this tool, this paper designs and implements a web clippings system with sharing and management.Web clippings gathering tool uses the method that monitor the mouse movements and extract page DOM object contents based on mouse location to realize the goal of obtaining the content information and style information of the target web page and organizing attached information to form a clippings. Clipping tool can run while user browsing any web pages in most browsers. It has high compatibility. Web clippings system uses B/S architecture and three layer structure to design. In this three layer structure, the UI layer is responsible for system and user interaction, the business logic layer is responsible for implementing the core business functions, the data access layer is responsible for all system data persistence and query retrieval operations. This paper discusses the process of requirements analysis, preliminary design, detailed design, and implementation containing the detail of web page fragment extraction, clippings generation, clippings browsing, clippings management, clippings searching, user management, solved a large number of problems in design and development.Although there are many shortcomings and deficiencies in this system, and needs to be further improved, but this system technically verify the feasibility of a social networking site based on sharing of web page fragment, and has good application prospect and business prospects, and also provide a reference and experience for the development and implementation of similar systems.
