With rapid developing of social economy and scientific technologies, package quality as well as. packaging materials performance and reliability attracts more and more concerns. In some countries, packaging materials have been supervised under various laws and regulations of which the ones on food and medicines contacting materials are especially strict. As to China, in recent years, control over packaging materials quality has been strengthened and various national standards and industry regulations on plastic flexible packaging of different industries established of which the standards on medicines and food industry have taken an initial shape. It will cost bulk capital to establish laboratory for packaging materials test, which is far beyond capability of most medium and small-scaled companies. ULab Distance Testing Center aims to provide flexible packaging test service for food industries through the establishing of a scientized, standardized and informative packaging test laboratory relying on new-types environment-friendly packaging test techniques. ULab Distance Testing Center, through integration of professional testing instruments and testing service procedures, establishes a electronic management system including procedures of samples collection and testing procedures management, sample processing, data processing, report review and generation, testing instruments management, staff duties and coordination, instruments status as well as reagent resources and etc; and through network interlinks among lab instruments such as analyzing instruments and general activities management system, forms a network-based distributed and all-round covered management system with lab as the center. On basis of existing LIMS, the passage, considering of the practical demands and operative procedures in food industry as well as requirements of CNAS system, introduces the design and realization of a distance testing center specializing in food industry.The passage elaborates the demand analysis, process of design and realization, as well as operative instructions and skills of the system. Different from ordinary laboratories, the system consists of test data acquisition and process system generated from relative instruments, test process management system from receipt of the order to sample collection, sample process, test, single test report and comprehensive report, statistics analysis platform for historic data inquiry, management and application platform providing basic application framework and report management, and finally the function application platform for specific services.To coordinate with implementation of the system, Packaging Safety Testing Center of Labthink made relative reforms in respects of service procedures and management structure, and raised solutions for automatic test data acquisition at the end of test. Instead of manual input of test order and test results, the system works on basis of electronic test order, which immensely reduces test time and increases test efficiency. Besides, the system performs to offer technical support to decision-makers by its test data storage, and statistics analysis function.With over six months’ relentless efforts, the system has been successfully put into operation in Labthink Packaging Safety Testing Center. Due to the stable performance and high efficiency, it gains unanimous accreditation from both lab staff and clients.Basic functions have been completed in the system. For time concern, the system operation part was not designed as flexible as expected, to which we will make further improvement during work.
