The integration of CAD technology and all kinds of advanced design and manufacture technology promote the product design and manufacture of integrated, intelligent, standardization and so on, the existing design pattern of "3D (three-dimensional) design,2D (two-dimensional) drawing" will be replaced by the method of3D digital product definition. Used with3D annotation technology solve the problem of the organization and expression of non-geometry manufacturing information on the3D model to realize3D model as the only carrier to transfer design information.3D annotation information which is associated with3D model can be able to drive the parameters of the3D model and also be used for subsequent processing and manufacturing process, to really achieved the integration of3D CAD/CAM technology.The method of digital product definition based on3D annotation technology has a long way to go in our manufacturing industry, therefore, it has important application significance to carry out research in this field.By using the application development interfaces and tools integrated with3D CAD software, under the environment of Pro/Engineer this paper has carried on the application development in view of3D annotation technology. Firstly, analysis of the characteristics of the current3D part model to express information and understanding the development situation of3D annotation technology, this paper put forward the concept of3D accuracy characteristics symbols and full3D part model. Secondly, according to GB/T24734standard and related3D standard, by employing feature-based parameterized design method,3D accuracy characteristics symbols which conforms to the national standard is established, so that the3D annotation system is developed. The3D annotation system is used to set up the full3D part model. Finally, by visiting the full3D model, the information of3D accuracy characteristics symbol on the model is extracted and stored in Access database for subsequent processing and manufacturing process.The3D model realizes the two-way flow and information sharing between the upstream design information and the downstream manufacturing information, so as to improve the full3D digital product design and manufacturing efficiency and quality.
