As for the cost of intensive lithography increasing and the size of transistor being difficult to continue shrinking, the electronic technology based on transistors would spot bottleneck leading to the sluggish development of intelligent computer. Fortunately, the proposed memristor theory brings new energy to the development of intelligent computers. Memristor is a novel kind of electronic device whose resistance can continuously change depending on the charge or flux passing through it. Moreover, the resistance change of spintronic memristor which is improved from HP memristor is related to the current density through the device. Both of them have unique advantages in the applications of nonvolatile memory and intelligent control. Replacing the transistor with memristor not only could continue Moore’s law but also be expected to make the computer which could be powered on immediately with all the data still in the memory and promote the development of computer technology. It has been70years since the PID controller was firstly proposed and becomes the frequently-used industrial controller on account of the simple structure as well as good stability and reliability. However, parameters of conventional PID controller are not so easy to adjust and could not change in the course of control when they are determined. Moreover, with the development of industry as well as the complexity of control objects increasingly improved such as the control of the hysteretic, time varying and nonlinear systems, these would gradually disclose the limitations of the conventional PID control which needs to combinations with other technology due to their unknown parameters, delays or interferences, as well as being unable to establish precise mathematical models.First of all, based on the study of conventional single neuron and neural network PID controller, this paper presents an approach to the memristive weight updating which is similar to the biologic synapse, and puts forward a model of the memristive single neuron and neural network controllers. According to the stipulating theory, the program simulation and Simulink modeling have been already provided. Secondly, according to the conventional fuzzy PID controller and memristive crossbar array theory, we store fuzzy rule into memristive crossbar array and combine it with PID controller to establish the memristive fuzzy PID controller with the value simulation conducted by MATLAB. Finally, this paper introduces the physical model of spintronic memristor and its working principle and mathematic model as well as analyzes its voltage-current characteristic by means of numerical and circuit simulations. It also argues the resistance variation subject to differing pulses and compares the spintronic memristor with the HP memristor. Moreover, we structure a spintronic memristor crossbar array and use it for image storage. A series of simulation results have verified the apparent advantages of memristive storage and controller in applications.
