Intelligent curriculum arrangement system is an important part of the educational management system in colleges and universities. Along with the expanding enrollment, teachers, classrooms, etc. teaching resources become more scarce, which lead to that teaching resource utilization had been paid more and more attention and the problem of how rationally allocate limited educational resources to students is placed in front of the major colleges and universities. Because traditional hand-arranging have been unable to meet the increasing requirements, computer-aided course scheduling system will become an inevitable trend and various intelligent curriculum arrangement system came into being. Under numerous constraints, how to use a computer to produce efficient and reasonable timetable, is a work worthy of study, and this research has also attracted many researchers at home and abroad to study in depth. As an educational administrators fighting in the first line, the importance of intelligent curriculum arrangement is particularly impressed me. But due to course scheduling problem is an NP complete problem, and the diversity of needs among all colleges and universities, so far, intelligent curriculum arrangement system is more like personalized applications build on general educational administration platform.Course scheduling system is a complicated system and algorithm of arranging course as core. In this thesis, principles and requirements based on what the course schedule built are analyzed, course schedule process is sorted, all factors may encounter in design process is excavated, combining reality of Changshu Institute of Technology and various constraint conditions, an intelligent course scheduling system based on genetic algorithm is designed and implemented. Feasibility and efficiency of the system are demonstrated through testing.
