Sonar can be divided into two categories according to their works: active and passivesonar. The distance, speed, and bearing of the target can be calculated through processingthe reflected echo signals in active sonar signal processing. The shape and movementelements of the target can be calculated by processing radiated noise signals in passivesonar signal processing. Acoustic signal processing can lay a soild foundation forsubsequent trials, save research funding, and provide a standard to the result of the signalprocessing in actual environment. This paper mainly dealed with the comparative study of the key algorithms of thesonar platform acoustic signal processing section, and designed the active and passivesonar signal processing software modules. First of all, the theories of acoustic signalprocessing and several signal processing algorithms are studied. Secondly, thebeamforming algorithm, beam splitting exact algorithm and line extraction algorithm aresimulated by using matlab software and analysised the simulation results. According to thesystem requirements of the acoustic signal processing, the paper designed the active andpassive sonar signal processing tasks overall multi-chip simulation topology, andcompleted the software design of the active and passive sonar signal processingmodules. The DSP chip program of the active and passive sonar signal processing modulesare programmed by using C language in Visual DSP++software development throughthe high speed array signal processing board based on ADSP-TS201S as the hardwareplatform. In the end, the sonar platform for acoustic signal processing system is tested byusing simulated signals. The signal processing results met the system requirements, andthe entire system is verified to be eligibilited.
