A large number of assistant fishing equipments have been found to emerge widely, for the reason that people are greatly in need of fish in the ocean and also fishing techniques are under development at tremendous speed. Undoubtedly, fishfinder sonar, as typical fishing equipment, could locate underwater fishing cluster that beyond people's identification and display some information in details such as density, classification of underwater fishing cluster. As a result, it could enhance fishers' efficiency with high economical value. Equally,increasing innovation of sonar technology leads traditional single beam fishfinder sonar to multi beam sonar with more accuracy. To live up with development of fishing market, the paper tries to finish hardware design of signal processing and realize software in relation to algorithm by taking multi beam fishfinder sonar as academic background. It intends to provide a sound basis for commercialization of home-made multi beam fishfinder sonar products.The paper initially introduced background and significance of the study, and analyzed basic methodology of fishfinder sonar. Two signal processing methods frequently used in fishfinder sonar were accurately described. Thus, on the basis of this, the paper successfully chose a major algorithm, and determined the main work.Moreover, algorithm such as shift beam forming, target strength, fishing cluster number estimation, target location, and Doppler velocimetry were intensively analyzed and conducted.Shift beam forming and phased array realization were simulated with the intention of verifying relevant theories.Then, proper equipments obtained from the result were employed to design hardware circuit of signal processing board. Determining proper use of the circuit, PCB circuit board with 6 layers was drafted by using Altium Designer software.Finally, in order to achieve stability and reliability of hardware platform, investigators carried out adjustment and verification of hardware circuit sub-modals first in the lab.Followed by this, software was adjusted on sub-board. Algorithm in the paper has been verified by fishing exploration experiment and data obtained in Songhua Lake. In conclusion,the study successfully proves feasibility of the software.
