Frequency-hopping (FH) communication is one of the technologies of spread spectrumcommunication, as its strong anti-jamming, anti-fading and anti-interception, the technology isalways be used in the area of military communication. With the development of FH technology, it isalso be used in the field of civilian communication. In the FH communication system, if one sidewants to communicate with another side, they must achieve FH synchronization. Thesynchronization technology is one of the most critical technologies, the performance ofsynchronization technology directly affects the performance of the whole system. On the one hand,the research of FH synchronization technology guarantees the communication of friends, on theother hand, it is used to prevent the tracking or capture of enemies. Therefore, the research of FHcommunication synchronization technology has its important application value and significance.This thesis mainly studied the synchronization technology of FH communication, and the mainwork include the follows:1. The thesis gives a brief introduction of FH communication, specifically from the aspects ofbasic theories, mathematical model, technology advantages, key technologies and synchronization.2. The thesis briefly introduces five self-synchronization methods and the TOD (Time of Day)information based synchronization-head method in FH communication. A parallel searchsynchronization-head method that can be used in both slow frequency-hopping (SFH) and fastfrequency-hopping (FFH) system is presented. In the method, the receiver has the synchronizationbranches for each status of FH sequence. Thus, unlike all the exiting methods that first enter thecapture stage then enter the tracking stage, the branches enter the tracking stage directly to searchthe synchronization information in parallel. The receiver chooses the corresponding branchaccording to the tracking results. The theoretical analysis show that the method has shortersynchronization time, high synchronization probability and low false alarm probability.3. The Simulink tool of Matlab is used to simulate the TOD information basedsynchronization-head method and parallel search synchronization-head method, and it gives adetailed introduction of the important modules in the simulation. The simulation results areanalyzed in detail to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the scheme.4. This thesis makes an overall summary about the finished work, points out the shortcomingsand makes specific arrangements for next stage.
