Department stores have brought great convenience to people’s lives and played adecisive role in people’s daily life. Whether there is a department store has become animportant indicator influencing people’s house-purchase. With the development ofeconomy and the improvement of people’s living level, small supermarkets anddepartment stores can’t meet people’s demands. This is why varieties of small-scalesupermarkets of single species and chaotic management gradually develop intohypermarkets of abundant commodities and standardized management, emerging alarge number of outstanding enterprises (such as HONGKELONG,WANGZHONGWANG, HUARUNWANJIA etc.). With the development andexpansion of department stores, the problem of warehouse management graduallyemerged. Many department stores introduced warehouse management system(Warehouse Management System, abbreviated to WMS). But the traditionalwarehouse management system used manual way to record documents. Thistraditional way is not only time-consuming, but also easy to cause artificial loss. Andits high labor cost and long cycle of warehousing and ex-warehouse affect theefficiency of warehouse management, restricting the development of department storeindustry.This paper designs a department store warehouse management system combinedRFID (Radio Frequency Identification, radio frequency identification). This systemmainly consists of supermarket warehouse management platform, radio frequencyidentification data acquisition system and the RFID electronic tag. These constituentparts are interrelated, completing the process of warehouse management systemtogether. The research and design of the warehouse management system are the keypart of this paper which include the function design and database design of storage management system. The warehouse management system uses three layer structuremode of B/S. In development, the Java2Platform Enterprise Edition J2EE is used asa software development tool, SQLServer2005database as the database managementsystem.Based on the life cycle of software engineering, combined RFID technology, thispaper transforms and redesigns the traditional storage management processes afteranalyzing needs of the department stores warehouse management. Afterimplementation, the system can not only complete various management operationeffectively, but also simplify inventory management greatly, meeting the demand ofbusiness development of department store, bringing direct economic benefits toenterprise and enhancing the core competitiveness of enterprises. The experimentproves the practicability and reliability of the system design.
