Currently, the automobile market has the fast and diversity trend towards the productdemand, which requires companies to quickly develop a diversity of automotive products,in order to shorten product development cycles, parallel development strategy has beenput on the agenda. After products are developed, need to be tested in detail, but like thelimit testing, failure testing, the test cost in the real environmental is expensive, which willlead to higher development costs. Now, many engineers regard hardware-in-the-loopsimulation as a typical method to shorten development cycles and reduce developmentcosts. Now, many auto companies and research institutions have established their ownvehicle driving simulator for new technology research, experimentation and development, and use the driving simulators for road experiments instead of the real to reduce productdevelopment costs and cycles.Hardware-in-the-loop simulation test and driving simulators require the vehicledynamics model to run on an embedded real-time hardware system to simulate the realvehicle environment. Their wide use promotes the vehicle dynamics model to enter intothe embedded real-time hardware system from PC.In other countries, like CarSim, Tessis and other companies have developed thevehicle dynamics model that can be used in a variety of embedded real-time hardwaresystems and developed the mature commercial software. Also, the study on the vehicledriving simulator is early abroad. As early as the1980s, Germany, Japan, Sweden, theUnited States and other auto manufacturers had established a development-type vehicledriving simulator. And the vehicle dynamics model was applied to real-time hardwaresystem operation long ago. The domestic research in this area started relatively late. Andthere is no commercial software like CarSim, VeDYNA, and there is no vehicle dynamics model applied to the embedded real-time hardware system. Jilin University has developedthe development-type ADSL driving simulator ranked second in the world, but the vehicledynamics model only runs on PC, and not to be applied to the embedded real-timehardware system. Therefore, this paper does some research about the gap in this area. This paper taking the ASCL vehicle dynamics model and dSPACE real-timehardware system for example, does some research about the development on theembedded simulation platform of the vehicle dynamics model. Firstly, the articleintroduces the seven systems, the function modules and the function of the open functionsof ASCL vehicle dynamics model briefly, which lays the foundation for the developmenton the embedded simulation platform of the vehicle dynamics model. Then, this paper does some research about the development on the embeddedsimulation platform of the vehicle dynamics model in the two common developmentenvironments-the C language and Simulink used by engineers. A control interface tool isdeveloped by studying the communication mechanism between the PC and dSPACE, andproblems about the downloading and run control of the model were solved through thetool. Problems about the model running on the dSPACE and the parameter file processingwere solved by studying the dSPACE DS1006RTLib mechanism, memory operations,Matlab-C mixed programming and S-Function. The input/output of the ASCL vehicledynamics model were equipped according to the needs of ADSL driving simulator bystudying the DS2210RTLib and DS2210RTI, which is helpful for engineers to do theHIL experiment. Finally, this paper studies the efficiency of the vehicle dynamics model running onthe dSPACE. Through the comparison test and the result analysis for the vehicle dynamicsmodel of ASCL and CarSim RT in the PC and dSPACE environment, optimizationmethods of the operating efficiency of the ASCL vehicle dynamics model were proposedfrom the perspective of the GCC compiler optimization options and AMD64processor.
