Underwater acoustic sensor network(UASN) have low power consumption, the node in thenetwork are small in size and with low cost and have self adaptability, which is very suitable fortarget localization and tracking, while coverage problem is also a hot research topic. Study how tohave efficient and low power consumption is of great significance.This thesis mainly introduced from the following aspects:(1). Firstly, the concepts and applications of developing UASN were introduced. Especiallyabout coverage and tracking at home and abroad, expounded the research purpose and meaning;(2). Then briefly introduced its system structure、characteristics and application scope, thensimply analysed its energy consumption; Coverage and tracking issues respectively act as UASN’shot problem. It mainly introduced the classification of coverage, the relationship between coverageand network connectivity, coverage algorithm and the concept of tracking.(3). Research on coverage algorithm in UASN, put forward meshing method, achievemaximize coverage efficiency in theory. Under this research results, combined with the nodeboundary constraints, this paper proposed a algorithm for node energy optimize named VFA, foreach node in the network was introduced into three kinds of force named the repelling force, gravity,boundary binding, which envoyd points evenly dispersed throughout the network. At the same time,it used threshold to realize the maximization of target coverage effect;(4). The simulation was completed in the MATLAB software, firstly build3D sensor networkmodel, with randomly and uniform placed sensor nodes and fitting the path of the moving target.Wherever the target moved to, it could be effectively covered by beacon nodes. Change the densityof beacon node, coverage radius, compare their coverage efficiency and average moving distanceand so on;(5). Analysis and research about the existing localization algorithm. On the basis of reducingcommunication overhead, extending the lifetime of the network and improving the localizationaccuracy, we proposed a new3D DV-Hop algorithm. It simply explained random deployment, thenit adopt range-free algorithm use hop distance. At last compared simulation results;(6). Finally, a brief overview of the related research of tracking algorithm, and compares theiradvantages and disadvantages.
