People have been found many physical effects associated with the mesoscopic, since theconcept of mesoscopic was proposed. Photonic crystal is a unique carrier in mesoscopicphysics. As the small size and unique features of Photonic crystals, it had been developed inmany areas. Sensors in people’s daily production and life occupied a very important position.Small micro sensor with the characteristic of dimensions, light weight was to get people of allages. This paper proposed a bold vision: mesoscopic effect would be applied to micro-sensors.According to this idea, the sensing principle of micro-sensor would break the original bindingand greatly improved the sensitivity of micro-sensor. But also it could add to new membersfor the family of the sensor. The main contents of this paper:1) The paper introduced the concept and preparation and calculation Method ofphotonic crystals in detail. Then, the paper highlighted the application of photonic crystals,such as photonic crystal fiber. This new material would have good prospects.2) In order to lay the foundation of later studies, the paper introduced the micro-sensorsand MEMS technology. In this section, the paper introduced the definition, development andapplication of micro-sensors designed. Because the production process of micro-sensor basedon the technology of MEMS, so the paper also introduced the technology of MEMS in detail.3) In this section, the paper introduced the effects of mesoscopic physics. Each effecthad its own characteristics and different functions and had in-depth research and use in thecorresponding fields. Articles did a specific analysis of each effect.4) The paper designed a new acceleration sensor based on mesoscopic calendar. Compared with conventional sensors, because of the new sensor designed base on photoniccrystal materials, the new sensor had a smaller size. On the design calculations, the paperadopted the relationship between the stress and the light transmittance. Then,the paper did thesimulation and computational mechanics by the software of ANSYS. The results showed thatthe simulation results corresponded with the theoretical structure.The paper designed a newtemperature sensor based on mesoscopic effect and mesoscopic temperature and light effect.The materials being utilized by sensor sensitivity to temperature sensors. People could detectthe diversification of temperature through detecting the light transmittance. The paper drawthe transmittance diagram between the temperature changes, material thickness, and photoniccrystal by the software of Matlab.This paper describes the knowledge associated with the designed sensor. It believed thatthis new sensor could have a good prospects, it also could make people’s lives better.
