The border defense shortwave100W transceiver as the main type of shortwave radio; the display interface is primarily letters and numbers; not easy to operate or use by soldiers; and the transmission of the radio was analog voice; it has such shortcomings on technic as poor voice quality; short communication distance, jamproof ability. With the rapid development of modern communication technology; the shortwave100W transceiver in terms of functionality and performance has been unable to meet the communication needs of the active forces; there is an urgent need to upgrade. The development of this subject is the upgrade of the original shortwave radio station; the aim of the subject is to design and produce a shortwave adaptive frequency hopping transceiver of a new generation to meet the needs of the active forces.This paper focuses on the design and research of control system in shortwave adaptive frequency hopping radio, and it updated the original analogue communication systems by new technologies and new processes. The radio front panel is easier for fighter to operate by the use of LCD display interface chip in Chinese characters and Chinese characters. It improves the quality of its communications through digital signal processing technology, and improves its anti-jamming capabilities through adaptive frequency hopping technology.First of all, this article is the research and analysis of adaptive frequency hopping communication on shortwave; it gave the overall design plan of the radio from the actual needs of troops on the radio, and introduce the adaptive frequency hopping unit features of shortwave.Secondly it’s mainly the design and research of the radio front panel; main control unit and multiple business unit, and it focuses on the implementation details of the radio control unit hardware and software design. Meanwhile it takes the advantage of VC++development environment; the main control unit realized the design of basic control functions of the radio with MCS-51series single-chip.This design using the DSP technology in multiple business units, achieved a digital radio channel; digitalization and automation of business communication. It completed the radio design of combined terminal remote control software and realized the remote control function of the radio through the serial communication technology.Through the functions and indicators test; results of this design allows shortwave adaptive frequency hopping on the anti-jamming ability and communication ability than the original coastal100W HF radio has been improved significantly.
