The mobile device management platform is a system which is responsible for the management and control of the mobile device. It can monitor and control the remote mobile device continuously with network. With the development of the mobile device such as smart phones, pad and other intelligent terminals, the relation of mobile device and life is closer. More and more office applications are implemented to the mobile device and people get used to work on the mobile device too. It means the mobile device is taking a more important role in the IT management.The mobile device management platform is based on the HTTP persistent connection and uses Java environment for development. It controls the mobile device with B/S and C/S mode. Mobile device will preset the platform client. The platform server will support a front page of browser developed by Vaadin to monitor and control the mobile device client. The platform server and client’s communication is based on the existing network such as GSM/3G and WLAN. The system data is stored with Apache Derby database.The management platform includes server and client. This thesis will focus on the server work. The main work of this thesis includes:(1) Introduce the background and purpose of the management platform project.(2) Introduce the key techniques of the management platform such as Comet, Derby and Vaadin.(3) Analyze the user’s requirement, including function and non-function requirement analysis, data requirement analysis and network requirement analysis.(4) Introduce the general design of the management platform, including network architecture, software architecture and database.(5) Introduce the detail design and implementation of the management platform’s important modules with flow diagram, sequence diagram, pseudo code and so on.(6) Introduce and analyze the test result of the project, including the User Interface test, functional test and performance test. This thesis designs and implements the server of the mobile device management platform. With the mobile device management platform, the mobile devices will be monitored protected and controlled unified. Enterprise data can be maximum protection. It’s also a way to configure and upgraded the office applications.Current the system has completed and delivered to the customers as the first phase.
