The performance of electro-optical tracking system mainly depends on tracking precision. In order to achieve high precision tracking, conducting a control of electric drive which is the most important part of electro-optical tracking system is the main method, and one of the control methods is what will be discussed in this article.Although conventional PID controller has some advantages, such as the mature algorithm, stable performance, it requires a mathematical model with precise system. It is weak in anti-disturbance and adaptability, difficult to control complex system of nonlinear and disturbed. Though the neural network and fuzzy control have improved the control ability of the servo system, it still can not completely meet the needs of all system. On the basis of in-depth study of the control theory of PID, neural networks, and fuzzy control, this article combines the PID, neural network control and fuzzy control, and designs a fuzzy neural network controller, which can meet the demand of the high-precision control for the electro-optical tracking devices, it also has important engineering value.
