A New Pricing Model And Its Application In Vector Network

Vector net is a connection-oriented communication network, by numbering the node’s egress ports on one communication path, and ranking these port number sequence as a vector address, which realizes the extension of address resource. Through calling and routing process, vecter net establish its vector connection, then transmit data based on vector path with reliable and high security advantages.As an important aspect of vector network,reasonably design pricing scheme will have a positive impact in such aspects like network resource allocation, improve operating income and reduce users’overhead. Many existing billing schemes such as monthly payment and traffic accounting are widely accepted by users and operators, but with the development of next generation network, traditional single factor pricing mode gradually shows its weakness. There is no distinguish in different time of using network, no distinguish between long and short distance communication cost, can not dynamically adjusted rate according to current network performance, etc. These shortcomings make the precision of traditional pricing schemes appear rough.This paper proposes an accounting system combines bandwidth reserve and data volume, and provides practical applications in vector network with multiple data forwarding level. The system meets the high resolution requirement for account in next generation network, which simplifies the operation and reduces the cost. The total amount in this scheme will be divided into two parts to calculate:the amount related to bandwidth reserve and the amount related to data volume. Through the real-time detection of path rate, vector network accounting system reaches a higher resolution than the existing ones. Based on vector network, the principle and overall scheme of this accounting scheme are introduced, and the design and implementation scheme of end system accounting module are given, which is realized with linux kernel module.
