With the rapid development of communication technology, multi-band communication is becoming a hot spot in today’s research and development. As an important part of the communication system, Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) with multi-band characteristics has been widely investigated. Meanwhile, to save spectrum resources, FSSs with improved anti-interference ability and high selectivity of frequency selective surfaces are also becoming more and more important. In this work, several multi-band FSS structures based on coupling slot structure have been proposed and analyzed. And some researches about FSS structure based on substrate integrated waveguide and square patch, with high band-pass selectivity has been carried out. The main works of this dissertation are listed as follows.1. By analyzing the FSS with the coupling slot unit cell, four such coupling slots has been combined to get a FSS-CSL (FSS based on coupling slot line) with dual-band and TE/TM polarization property. Based on the combination of the FSS-CSL and aperture resonators, a single layer tri-band FSS has been obtained. Combining two FSS-CSLs with different sizes, the single layer and four bands FSS are realized. By combining AFA (Antenna Filter Antenna) structure and the dual-band FSS-CSL, the passband properties have been improved, including bandwidth and frequency selectivity. Furthermore, some equivalent circuit models of the proposed FSS structures have been given to analyze their working mechanisms.2. By investigating the existing substrate integrated waveguide cavity FSS (SlW-Cavity FSS), a composite structure by combining square ring patch and metal vias has been proposed with two steep drops. Meanwhile, the E-field (electric field) and equivalent circuit model of the proposed FSS structure has been analyzed for demonstration of their working mechanism.
