In recent years, satellite communication obtained the rapid development with its broad coverage, good broadcasting capabilities and its free from any geographic restriction. However,, the development of the Internet has suffered bottlenecks, such as scarcity of bandwidth resources, remote areas not covered,etc, and the complementary advantages between satellite communications and Internet is possible. So, the satellite network equipped with the on-star IP processing capabilities, and be able to connect satellite network and Internet seamlessly. As a fundamental part of IP satellite network, the satellite IP subsystem discussed in this article,has the on-star IP processing capabilities. The research and development process of Satellite IP subsystem onboard equipment related, needs to be synchronized with the ground testing equipment for IP subsystem supporting, to ensure the final performance and functionality of satellite IP subsystem can meet various requirements.The main function of the ground equipment are implemented in software, so in such cases, in order to meet the demand for satellite IP subsystem testing, the paper carry out the research and design of the software-related. The main achievement of the software are four major functions:performance test of onboard equipment, state monitoring of subsystems onboard equipment, application of terrestrial network access to IP satellite network, reconstruction of onboard equipment. In oder to achieve the access of IP application to satellite network, this paper presents a simple and practical filtering and forwarding mechanism to achieve high-speed access. For the realization of the reconstruction function in orbit, the paper in a way to optimize the storage and retrieval, data transmission rate adaptation, ensured error-free data upload of the reconstruction. In addition, there are large amounts of data cache, we propose an efficient data caching strategies to meet the needs of high-speed data interaction.Eventually, the software meet the testing needs of onboard equipment. Software and other components together completed the testing of satellite IP subsystem equipment and ensured the smooth development of satellite IP subsystem equipment, which is a strong support for IP satellite networks construction. The test results prove that the satellite IP subsystem can work effectively and to achieve a good function of the satellite IP processing.
