A Research On The Implementation Of The Target Simulator For The Multi-Working Mode Airborne Radar

The aim of the research on the target simulator for multi-working mode airborne radars is to develop a current target simulator for multi-working mode. It can fulfill the demands of the different radar types and the different radarsystems which are being developed, tested integrally, flight-tested and manufactured all through the periods, especially according to the developing demands from the airborne active phased array radar. Among these working modes, the digital target simulating which is used in the integrated test of the phased array radar transfers the target data directly to the DBF unit and the signal-processing unit of the radar system through the optical fiber interface. The using of the target simulator for multi-working mode airborne radars can move the debugging and verifying jobs into the laboratory which should be progressed only in the flight-test. Consequently the simulator helps a lot to cut down the man resources, the material resources and the financial resources. And it reduces the airborne radar’s developing time greatly.This thesis summarizes on the researching significance of the target simulator for multi-working mode airborne radars. It introduces the working principle, the design method of the multi-working mode target simulator in details. The emphases are on the realization of the target simulator’s working mode and the different working modes according to the different radar’s testing requirements. It deeply researches the implementing process of the key technology, including the frequency guiding, the digital target building and the clutter emulating. And we obtained the great technical breakthrough.
