In this paper, the frame structure of an active phased array radar(APAR) antenna is studied in the aspect of the mechanical optimization analysis,mechanical strength test, considering the high flexibility and complication of the vehicle mobile carrying radar. This research gives a theoretical basis for the design of this novel APAR.(1) A light weight, high stiffness antenna frame system is designed by3Dsimulation analysis using Pro/E3D design software.(2) The mechanical optimization analysis through the finite element analysis tool was conducted, a reasonable boundary conditions and load cases were determined, proper mechanical model was established, structure in full load and overload conditions were calculate and the distribution of stresses were obtained, and on these basis the structure optimization were done.(3) The mechanical test scheme were designed, two part of antenna frame was analyzed by static test of full load and overload conditions, the bigger stresses and the position where the bigger stresses appear were analized deeply and on this basis, the welding structure, the skeleton process, fast connection methods are optimized.
