With the constantly advancing of information construction, more and more softwareprojects have been used in our life. It is very important for the success rate to strengthenthe risk management for software project. Software project risk management which is oneof key factors relating to software project success is a very important task during softwaredevelopment process. At present, there is basically mature in the research on thefundament theory of software project risk management, but the effective early-warningmodel still lacks. Chaos theory is a sort of cross reference theory. Nowadays, itincreasingly penetrates into all fields of physical science and social science, and plays thevital role. There are little combination between the risk management of software projectand the chaos theory although it has achieved excellent success on the study of chaostheory. The risk management of software project has Chaos characteristics, so Chaostheory will be able to offer a new method for establishing the early-warning model.This paper first summarized the risk management of software project, then analyzedthe present development condition of both domestically and abroad software industriesand restricted the research object. Secondly, we introduced the fundamental knowledge ofthe risk management for software project and chaos theory. This paper demonstrated thatthe risk management system of software project is an chaos system, and the risk ofsoftware project has chaos characteristic. Thirdly, Thirdly, detailed analysis of the variousfactors that affect software development success, and these factors in accordance with thesoftware life cycle by category, properties, classification, collate. And detailed analyze thesoftware risk factors.Fourthly, establishing the system model for the risk management ofsoftware project which is based on Chaos theory and Artificial Neural Network, and theneffectively risk management for software project will be worked. Finally, proposed thecorresponding countermeasures and suggestions for the risk management system ofsoftware project.The research of this subject is not only the urgent needs of further development ofinformatization, but also enriched the risk management of software project theory.Establishing the system model for the risk management of software project which is basedon chaos theory, that can lay the foundation for the future research on the risk managementof software project.
