| With a dramatic development in fields of network techniques and smart phones, the number of mobile phone users has surpassed that of PC users. Video call software, integrated in smarts phone, as well, received wide popularity among the users with its visual, convenient and in-time features.Using the Android system as the research and development platform, this project has created a type of video call software under Java language. With adoption of Eclipse software design, this software, workable under Android4.0or above, used Android Camera to collect images, SIP protocol stack to launch and manage communications, RTP to conduct segmentation package and RTCP to realize transmission control and employed OpenMAX as coder and decoder for media data. The following steps are included for the realization of the software system described in this article:1, Construct video communication software system on basis of Android system; design video communication software system for mobile phones,i.e., video communication module, voice-frequency telephony module and control module.2, While selective analysis was giving to the characters and demands of functional module of video communication software, those most used smart phone operating systems as well as the needed protocols were especially studied to ascertain the system and communication protocol applied to this article.3, Object-oriented programming method was adopted to design and carry out the interfaces of video communication software, login, install and address book separately.4, Software and hardware tests have been fulfilled on those four main functional modules; connection and debugging for the whole video communication system were completed thereafter.Last but not least, software and hardware tests’results and a further summary were given along with the outlook of this subject.This video call software, based on Android system, was characterized with friendly interface, speedy handle, fine expansibility and maintainability. |
