Reverberation chamber is a kind of electromagnetic compatibility measurement fieldwhich has a variety of advantages, such as the construction cost is low, the input power phasecan obtain higher field strength at the same time, short test time, etc. Because of thecharacteristics above, the use of reverberation chamber for EMC test has already beenaccepted by standard IEC61000-4-21and has been widely used. Source stirred reverberationchamber, compared with the mechanical stirred reverberation chamber, is a relatively newtype of reverberation chamber which can effectively use cavity space, reduce the lowestusable frequency, and is easier to conduct numerical simulation calculation and realconstruction.Based on the theory of source stirred reverberation chamber, we design a new kind ofarray antenna can be used to motive source stirred reverberation chambers.The main research contents include:1. The basic principles and several important status of reverberation chamber are studiedin this paper, and electromagnetic theory of reverberation chamber is analyzed, and the waveequation involved is also derived.2. Several important parameters of source stirred reverberation chamber are analyzed,and the probability and statistics model is established. The electromagnetic field relativity ofdifferent stir status is analyzed through coefficient of the correlation. Statistical uncertainty ofreverberation chamber is analyzed by using maximum likelihood estimation method.3. From the aspects of accuracy, the computing resources and grid division severalnumerical algorithms which can be used in the calculation of reverberation chamber arediscussed, and the suitable method of simulation is chosen based on characteristics of eachalgorithm. The model of source stirred reverberation chamber using antenna array isestablished, and relevant program is written according to the features of reverberationchamber, and the automation of the reverberation chamber simulation is realized.4. The factors involved array antenna modeling are analyzed, and in order to design theantenna array used to excite source stirred reverberation chamber. The experimental results show that the use of electric switch network controlling theantenna array can effectively motivate the reverberation chamber, the design of the antennaarray can satisfy the field independence demands of different stirring status, and fielduniformity of reverberation chamber over the low frequency spectrum fulfills therequirements of relevant standards. At the same time, the statistical distribution of electricfield in the chamber is consistent with theoretical analysis. Good experimental results areobtained in this paper and can provide reference for the actual construction of the sourcestirred reverberation chamber.
