As the rapid development of information technology, electronic equipment has beenwidely used in modern battlefield, that is the reason for the appearance of electromagneticbattlefield and electromagnetic environment. Nowadays, the army building is highlyinformationalizing, therefore on battlefield the electromagnetic environment appearsextremely complicated, concentrating electromagnetic signals, crowed electromagneticspectrum and intense electromagnetic combat, all of these make great influences on all thecombat operations and equipment. Thence, in order to analyse the influences on weaponry,studying on electromagnetic environment quantification is urgently necessary.On the basis of research on electromagnetic environment, a quantitative method ofelectromagnetic environment that the weaponry faces on battlefield is proposed. And the maincontributions of this paper are described as follows:The associated concepts and characteristics of electromagnetic environment aresummarized, in addition, differences between electromagnetic environment the weaponryfaces and electromagnetic environment on battlefield are proposed.An electromagnetic environment quantification method is presented. In order toimplement electromagnetic environment quantification, the classification algorithm ofelectromagnetic environment and the four quantitative indicators are proposed, including twoindicators for blanket jamming and two indicators for deception jamming.As to quantitative indicators for blanket jamming, the computing methods are designed.The quantity indicator can be calculated through formula; In order to figure up the qualityindicator, the Turner Algorithm, Daly Algorithm, Taylor Algorithm and the disadvantages ofthem are mentioned, in this case, some improvements are taken.As to quantitative indicators for deception jamming, the quantity indicator can bemeasured through test instrument; For the quality indicator, a Proximity Algorithm is analysed,because there is no computing criterion, the ambiguity function is proposed and the validity istested through field experiments.
