Metal cutting is the most important part processing methods of machinemanufacturing industry, Occupying a very important position in the machineryindustry, and the process is a complex physical processes involved inthermodynamics, materials science and solid mechanics, and many other disciplines,Compared to conventional cutting, heavy cutting has more specific requirements inprocessing technology, such as tool geometry optimization, matching choose ofknife to workpiece material, cutting cooling and coating technology. The large barrelForging Parts is core components of petroleum, chemical, nuclear and other majorprojects, the level of the processing efficiency and the quality of the processingdirectly affects the national petroleum, chemical, and nuclear power construction. Sofor heavy machining of large forged parts cylinder class, it is very necessary toestablish a database system for heavy cutting to improve productivity, reduce costssuch purposes. In this paper, for the characteristics of heavy-duty machining, it establishes thestructural model of the database in object-oriented design methods, and using SQLServer2000database management software and programming tools Visual C++6.0to establish a database system for heavy-duty cutting.By studying various types of optimization algorithms, finally it decided toselect the preferred deformation genetic algorithm, using maximum productivity andminimum production cost as objective function to optimization. Finally, theexperiment proved the reliability and accuracy of optimization results. According todifferent functions of the system, it builds knowledge base including examples oflibraries, library rules. The system uses modular method, and the entire system is divided into sevendifferent modules in order to reduce mutual interference between programs, alsofacilitating future management of the database.
