The dual advantages of optical fiber communication system based on OFDM with optical communications and OFDM technology, the spectrum of light OFDM technology not only has high utilization rate, but also has the ability of nonlinear resistance, anti polarization mode dispersion strong ability and anti chromatic dispersion ability. OFDM is a key technology in optical fiber communication system with large capacity, high speed and long distance of light, so the OFDM technology is the current research focus.This paper mainly studies the direct detection optical OFDM (DDO-OFDM) system, coherent detection optical OFDM (CO-OFDM) system and polarization multiplexing coherent detection optical OFDM (PDM-CO-OFDM) principle, structure and related technology, the transmitter and receiver system, analyzes the transmission characteristics of fiber channel, using Optisystem and Matlab to build the DDO-OFDM system、CO-OFDM system and PDM-CO-OFDM system the simulation platform, the system; in the DDO-OFDM system, Analysis of the effect on the system performance with different dispersion effect on the transmission distance and different number of subcarriers. In order to improve the receiver sensitivity of DDO-OFDM, design of the CO-OFDM system, in the CO-OFDM system, a number of different sub carrier, different modulation mode and different differential group delay (DGD) simulation analysis is made on the influence on the performance of the system. In order to increase the system capacity, the polarization multiplexing technology is introduced into the CO-OFDM system, in the PDM-CO-OFDM system, the proper selection of the number of subcarriers and modulation mode can make the performance of the PDM-CO-OFDM system is very advantageous for simulation and analysis; finally, the simulation of CO-OFDM system and PDM-CO-OFDM system analysis and comparison of results.
