With continuous development of domestic science, high-tech equipment of manufacturing such as automobile, aerospace, ships, large high-end equipment are also developing rapidly. Laser tracking distance measurement systems are widely used in various fields such as defense and industry. Nowadays, the laser tracking systems used in China are totally dependent on importation. Therefore the domestic research of the system is very important.Laser tracking distance measurement system is mainly used to track and measure an object which stays still or moves freely in space and give its space coordinates, or to measure countless points that give the3D morphology of the object. The system has the function of the track measurement of angle based on laser distance measuring system, making the laser beam moves in3D space instead of moving in one orientation, realizing the function of object tracking and measuring.This article studies the basic tracking principle, distance measuring principle and work flow of the system based on the single station type of tracking distance measuring system in detail. Meanwhile, the main axis of the system, the raster-angle system, semiconductor lasers and expansion beam collimation system, dual-wedge of optical axis device, and other major parts are also designed and analyzed, as well as the overall design of the single axis experimental platform, and give the design plan. Finally, the circular grating angular experiments and PSD accuracy verification experiments are carried out to verify the design proposal of this article, which provides information for further research.
