With the rapid development of network technology and the gradual improvement of means of communications, position of streaming media has become more and more important. The demand of people for video resources has grown more. In addition, the gradual development of a variety of mobile devices brings a surge of network traffic. This will be a challenge for both performance and bandwidth resources of the server. When traditional streaming media server met bottlenecks of performance, a common method is expanding, upgrading hardware device. However, hardware won’t be expanded forever and the bandwidth can’t be unlimited widened. Therefore, how to improve the utilization the hardware and bandwidth resource is nowadays a hot issue to be solved. In this thesis, we take cloud computing, CDN and P2P technology and combine them with mobile streaming media and design a new mobile streaming media system.Firstly, this thesis proposes an idea of building CDN network on cloud platform to improve the performance of streaming media services base on analyzing the status of streaming media. And then this thesis introduces the concept of DHT in P2P. It splits the system into some multiple parallel sub-cloud systems according to different geographic in order to solve some problems such as single point failure, weak expansion and other issues. And for the actual situation, this thesis designs a new caching strategy so that it can improve the access effect for user and reduce the delay of video. Secondly, in the inner system of sub-cloud, by analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of P2P and CDN technology this thesis combines this two technology in order to to make up for each other’s deficiencies. And then this thesis gives a new method for the load balance. In this system, source server distributes the data to the edge server. And when the user sends the request for video, the request will be redirected to the proper edge server. And the edge servers will response the user instead of source server. The edge server is near to the user so that it can reduce the transmission distance of the network and reduce the server load. Therefore, it can improve the user experiences.Finally,based on the above, this thesis gives the design and implementation of a mobile streaming media and explains implementation process of main modules. Also, the further work is discussed.
