Analysis&Design Of TDOA Locating Receiver For Civil Aviation Secondary Response Signals

The passive detection system based on TDOA locating technique has been fully developed in theory and widely applied in military field. Yet it is seldomly applied in civilian fields, especially in domestic application. Therefore, the research about design of TDOA locating receiver for civil aviation secondary response signals can largely adopt the well-developed theories and successful experiences of EW receiver.This thesis introduces some important indexes in passive receiver system, analyzes the impact of measurement precision of TDOA on target locating performance, elaborates the influencing factors for time measurement precision, including parameter selection and processing methods. A real time threshold detection method based on invariable comparison triggering technique is proposed, and the time measurement precision is increased to ns level using some simple processing methods, which provides strong technical support for the improvement of locating precision.This thesis proposes a design plan of TDOA locating receiver for civil aviation secondary response signals, analyzes its influencing factors for time measurement precision, including the receiver’s noise, bandwidth, gain and different threshold processing methods. The real-time time measurement precision and results are given under optimal bandwidth, matched filter and real-time dynamical threshold. The result verifies the feasibility of the design plan, and provides reference for multi-TDOA locating system. Finally, the thesis gives out the conclusions and prospects for development trend and future work in time difference measurement.
