| With the continuous development of Internet, users put forward higher requirements on network stability.NSF (Non-Stop Forwarding) is an important HA (High Availability) technology. It ensures that when the router’s control plane fails, data forwarding is still working, so that services will not be interrupted in a short time. NSR (Non-Stop Routing) is a more reliable technology than NSF. It requires a backup system on software level based on the NSF’s hardware architecture. Although NSF can ensure the continuing of data forwarding, it can not guarantee the correctness of forwarding table during failure time. However, the goal of NSR is to keep the availability and accuracy of data forwarding, and minimize the demage to services caused by local failure.MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching) is a switching technology widely used in the backbone network which uses labels to identify different forwarding path. It introduces the advantages of connection oriented communications into connectionless networks. LDP (Label Distribution Protocol) is one of the protocols in MPLS’s control plane, it generates forwarding path for MPLS network. This subject comes from a project named "MPLS LDP module support NSR feature" from a company, analizes the feasibility principle of the solution, the necessity and timing of batch backup and realtime backup for each running data of LDP protocol, gives a solution and tests the correctness. |
