Hydrogen is an important industrial raw material, reducing agent and even new energy. It has been widely used in various fields of the national economy with an ambitious future and it purity and output have become one of the signs of the industrial level. With the improvement of the hydrogen making process and the change of the product demand, the requirements on the automatic control system of the hydrogen production plant are increasing at the same time. Based on business cooperation projects, this article treats the largest hydrogen and carbon monoxide production device in a national MDI integration project as the research and design object. First, the current status of hydrogen production process and its control system is introduced. Then, according to the design requirements of this project, Siemens PCS7control system is utilized as a platform to carry out integrated design, including Hardware configuration, network configuration and software design, on the overall system of the hydrogen production process as well as on each control strategy with an thesis on its logic and a proof by the control effect. After that, the realization of the advanced control based on OPC technology in this control system is introduced. Finally, this article puts forward the communication method between Matlab and control system based on the OPC technology so as to achieve the purpose of carrying out advanced control algorithms with Matlab as a controller. In addition, this article also gives out the communication test effect and control simulative effect based on the OPC technology.
