Research Of Heterogeneous Database Integration Based On Web Service And XML

Due to lack of integrated planning at present, the databases applied by the management information systems of each business segment are basically incapably shared, with the existing problems including:unconformity of database management system, definition unconformity of datasheet, absence of switching functional module among different data management systems. However, the data in different systems has great significance on the development of the company’s businesses so that the heterogeneous database integration technology shall be necessarily studied.The main works in this paper include:To determine the method procedures of heterogeneous database integration. Firstly withdraw the database definition from relational database, which will be then switched to the standard unified data pattern or to data definition form of other relational databases. The specific method is to achieve the process of data switching and integration by making use of XML Schema, which establishes the mapping mechanism between the relational database and the datasheet definition. By virtue of the mechanism, the two-way switching between the data in the relational database and the date in XML data files can be achieved. As the data format in XML data files can be defined and unified by the developers, this method can be applied to conveniently achieve the formation of data in the database.Make use of the Web Service technology to achieve the distribution of the database integration method in the form of service. Design the overall structure of heterogeneous database integration system, apply the service-orientated structure pattern, define the Web service by virtue of specific heterogeneous database integration method obtained by using the WSDL protocol and distribute it on the internet by using UDDI protocol. The clients can call the heterogeneous database integration service functions by using SOAP protocol.
