With the rapid development of society, the application of electrical equipment is becoming more and more widely, and the requirements of high quality power supply are rising. The thyristor phase voltage regulate is the most widely used AC voltage regulating mode, which has the disadvantages of high harmonic content and low power factor, so that it can not satisfy people’s requirements of high quality power supply. The voltage regulate with chop-control has the advantages of low harmonic content and easy to filter, which will have a good prospect of development. With the gradual increase of load power, the AC chopper voltage regulating power developed interiorly which power is small is can’t satisfy people’s requirements of high-power power supply. In order to solve this problem, this paper designed a high-power AC chopper voltage regulating power which power is30KW.Firstly, this paper introduced the basic principles of voltage regulate with chop-control, and selected a single tube anti-tandem bidirectional power switch topology as this paper’s main circuit topology. This paper analyzed and compared several common control strategies of chop-control, established simulation model by simulation software PSIM, verified the theoretical analysis results of several control strategies through the simulation, and selected the non-complementary control strategy without current detection as the control strategy of this paper.On the basis of in-depth study of the working principle and control strategies of voltage regulate with chop-control, this paper designed system hardware circuit and system software. Hardware circuit design mainly including main switch device selection, filter circuit design, snubber circuit design, signal acquisition and regulation circuit design, overcurrent protection circuit design and IGBT drive circuit design. Paper did simulation experiment by PSIM for part of the designed circuit, which verified the rationality of the designed circuit through the analysis of experimental results. System software design mainly including main program design, interrupt service subroutine design, sampling and A/D conversion subroutine design, and digital PI control algorithm subroutine design.Finally, a prototype experiment had been actualized which selected TMS320F2812as the core controller.This paper mainly analyzed the IGBT gate drive pulse signal waveform and the output voltage waveform before and after filtering. Prototype experiment results show that the AC chopper voltage regulating power designed in this paper fully compliant with the requirements of practical application, which would have a good prospect of application.
