Office Automation System Testing Research Based On QTP

Software testing is an important part of the software development process. The purpose of the inspection system meets user needs,and find as many defects in software products as possible, so as to ensure the software quality.The goal of this research is to develop automated scripts for the functional testing of STXO, an office system, based on the Automated Test Tools named QTP using the VBScript scripting language and software testing technology. And the significance of this study lies in that it can make the office system achieve functional testing and regression testing automation to increase the effectiveness, efficiency and coverage of our software testing, in the long term, to ensure the software quality.This paper makes a brief introduction of the aim and role of software testing, the necessity and development of the automated testing. Secondly, working principle, classification, application and development of automated testing tools are described, and on this basis, give a highlight to the usage of QTP. Then how to design and functional test automation framework script, including needs and feasibility analysis, test cases, the detailed design of the automated test script development, the script used in the process of keyword-driven technology. Finally, the testing framework in STXO project actual practice shows that the introduction of the test framework to improve the test efficiency, effectively saving the cost of test, to achieve the research goals.
