3D printing technology is a type of rapid prototyping technology,and according to thedifferent forming material and printing process, it can be divided into different types oftechnology, such as selective laser sintering,Stereolithography,Laminated ObjectManufacturing,fused deposition modeling,etc.And each technology has its own strengthsand weaknesses.Nowadays,how to improve the printing speed and accuracy are mainissues of3D printing technology research.In this paper, it elaborated on the key technology of3D printing.And to solve theproblems of time consuming and taking up the large storage space for file slicing in3Dprinting process,A new slicing algorithm was given, that is Z-coordinate-based hierarchicalalgorithm, which use the topological structure information and the continuity of thetriangulars, analysing the process of the layered and the relationship among unit trianglesof sliced files (STL file).This algorithm not only can save time and memory space of thelayered process effectively, but also improve the reliability of the layered profileinformation.It designs a hardware circuit of3D printing technology.in which the Control systemchoose STM32F103Micro-controller that from STMicroelectronics Company as its coreprocessor. It uses the STM32F103Micro-controller’s high-speed data processingcapabilities and rich peripheral interface resources integrated in the chip. Combining withthe serial communication interface,which provides a powerful and extensible hardwareplatform for the3D printing system.This system selects Subdivision stepper motor controlmethod to control the X, Y, Z axis running by the controlling chip A3979. It gives theoreticalanalysis of dithering algorithm in the application of3D printing. On the basis of areasonable cost, simple structure, complete functions, it strives to maximize the efficiencyand print output accuracy of3D printing.
