Study On Data Quality Management In Data Warehouse

The science and technology change rapidly in21st century. Large amounts of data are coming. Enterprises need processing these data and obtain decision knowledge from them. OLTP is inadequate, data warehouse technology oriented.A data warehouse is a subject-oriented, integrated, time-variant, and nonvolatile collection of data in support of management’s decision making process and operation analysis. Objective is to optimize the resource allocation, improve the resource sharing and collaboration of the enterprise, so as to improve the core competitiveness and innovation. Data warehouse technology can wake up the enterprise data accumulated over the years. Data warehouse not only manage these data, but also find the potential value from these data. Compared to foreign enterprises, domestic enterprises system construction cycle is short, and the development of computer technology and business are very quickly. A lot of enterprises were busy on system integration and upgrade at the beginning, but they ignored the data management. High quality data can improve the accuracy of decision-making in enterprises, while the low quality of the data has the opposite effect. With the in-depth application of data warehouse, data quality becomes a key issue related to the data warehouse project is success or failure and data can be effectively applied.Based on the theory and practice of the principles, this paper uses theoretical research, case analysis and other methods to solve issues of data quality in data warehouse project. The main content includes:1. Introduce the concept of data quality and data warehouse; expatiate the method for data quality management.2. Analyze the source, the essence and all aspects of data quality issues; design check rule and maintenance flow for data quality management; put forward the solution for data quality management.3. Combining with the working experience, provide a reference case for data quality management which verified by a data quality management platform in a banking data warehouse project.
