Research On Virtual Private Dialup Network (VPDN)Technology And Its Applications

Broadband Metropolitan Area Network (B-MAN) is one of the most important infrastructures for telecommuncaion carriers to providing various differentiated services. Vitural Private Network (VPN) technology can present high bandwidth, low cost, flexible accessing, secure and billable network technique for different customers and applications. Virtual Private Dialup Network (VPDN) is a convenient, inexpensive, secure and controllable VPN implementation technique. This thesis presents a comprehensive study on VPDN technology and its application in Yunnan Medicare networks.Firstly, this thesis gives a brief introduction of B-MAN background, promising technologies and typical applications, etc. Then some key techniques of VPDN are analyzed in detail such as principles, layer2tunnel protocol (L2TP), authentification and accounting, respectively. The VPDN bearing network technology is analyzed with the study on service application scheme in VPDN. A specific design scheme for Yunan Medicare network is proposed including network access methods, service controlling, accounting and authentification, etc. Actual project implementation shows than the design scheme obtained successful results.
