In recent decades, Chinese adult higher education keeps expanding, providingvarious programs at different levels. The number of students enrolled in adult highereducation school has been increasing. As a result, increasingly tremendous informationabout these students has to be handled, which raises a new question: how to deal withand process such tremendous student information more efficiently, more effectivelyand more accurately. With the wide use of computer, network and other moderntechnologies, an information management system may provide a satisfactory solutionto the above question, contributing to efficient and effective management oftremendous student information.This paper reports an adult education management system, which is designed tohandle the adult student information of Anhui University Of Architecture. The adultstudents in further education school of Anhui University Of Architecture amounts tonearly tens of thousands of people, mainly engaged in engineering work and hencestrewn all over the country with different engineering projects. In addition, there is ateaching site in almost every city in Anhui province, which renders educationadministration very difficult. What is more, it is quite common for adult students toquit school, change major, transfer to other school and so on, owing to various reasonsconcerning work, family, etc. The above facts require an accurate and timely studentmanagement and administration, for which this adult education administration system isdeveloped.Taking into account the characteristics of adult education and the actual demandof Anhui University Of Architecture, we have developed a system which is aimed atapplication on the network platform and based on the Microsoft.NET. This system isdesigned, with Framework4technology, to have a three-layer structure. The backendlinguistic environment is C#, and the user interface is realized with EXTJS. Thesystem has such functional modules as system management, student management,examination management, performance management. It also gives brief account of theimplementation process of interface and coding. At the same time, it has been pointedout that some important problems should be noticed in its development and application.The system has run well in Anhui University Of Architecture, reaches the expected results, and features easy operation, high reliability, and friendly user-interface. Thesystem can significantly promote administrative effectiveness and efficiency in FurtherEducation School of Anhui University Of Architecture.
