Power line communication that has advantage over saving construction costs and withoutlaying new line, has been paid close extensive attention recently. With the growing number ofpower line communication system users, thus, system resource utilization is improvedburningly. OFDMA has been successfully applied to the power line communication system asthe physical layer transmission technology. The subcarriers of OFDMA system hasorthogonal and allows the spectrum of partially overlapping, thus it can effectively save thesystem spectrum resources. The core part of OFDMA is resource allocation algorithm, thus,reasonable resource allocation scheme can effectively improve the utilization of systemresources. But recently the research of system resource allocation algorithm is still in thepreliminary stage, this paper will study power line communication system based on OFDMAtechnology resource allocation problem and has a practical application value for thedevelopment of power line communication system.In order to improve the resource utilization of the power line communication system, thispaper proposes a modified Invasive Weed Optimization algorithm to allocate resources.Under the criterion of RA, we distribute the subcarrier resource dynamically based on thechannel status information of users in the PHY layer, the proposed algorithm not only meetsthe constraint of emission power spectrum, but also takes the fairness among users intoaccount. In the environment of a typical power line communication system, the simulationresults show that, the proposed algorithm makes the power line communication system hasgreater throughput and better fairness.Although the model of monolayer resources allocation can allocate the system resourcesreasonably, as a result of taking no account of the queue of users, blind allocation will causewaste of resource. Thus, in order to improve the resource utilization ration of power linecommunication system, This paper proposes a novel users scheduling algorithm based onutility function and resource allocation scheme of multiple layer and target ofsubcarrier-power joint allocation under the mixed traffics. In the MAC layer, we determinethe scheduling priority, the rate of minimum requirements and the rate of maximumpermission, and users scheduling algorithm based on utility function is proposed. In the PHYlayer, we distribute the subcarrier-power resource to users to satisfy the minimum requirements rate, if all users reach the minimum requirements, and there is a surplusresources, we allocate the resource to users to satisfy the rate of maximum permission basedon the fairness of user; if all users reach the rate of maximum permission and there is asurplus resources, the proposed algorithm regards maximum of the surplus resource asultimate goal, otherwise it regards the maximum of system capacity as ultimate goal. Thesimulation results are comparable with recent result of cross-layer resource allocationalgorithm. Under the environment of the typical power line system, the proposed algorithmcan obtain larger system capacity by utilizing less resource and satisfy the requirements ofQoS and fairness of users.
