Electronic map is the map stored and searched digitally by using thecomputer technology. There are some advantages of electronic map. Firstly,the electronic map can be used to find all kinds of locations information.Secondly, people can search the travel route through the map, such as publictraffic transfer, route of driving to the destination. Thirdly, People can see thelocation on the map, and also can find the surrounding things of the location.For example, people can find the hotels, banks, and internet bar and so on.Positioning and map application is one mobile application direction, whichhas a broad market and application value. And there is a close relationbetween the application and people’s daily life, such as travel route planning,public traffic transfer, and surrounding business district of the current positionand so on.In order to get the position information at any time and any place, theresearch is to design and implement a positioning and map application onAndroid mobile platform. According to the position information, people canrange the life and work timely. And make the position information servehumanity much better.The mainly researching tasks are as follows.With3G,4G era, mobile phones have become a quick and importantmeans of access to information. The combination of maps and information,expanding the mobile map service functions, which greatly improves theintuitive access to information for people to travel and position-relatedinformation acquisition, brings convenience. As mobile communication network technology, Internet technology, GPS andGIS technology developed, mobile application market emergence of a newform of map applications.Because people on the urgent needs of geographic information services,mobile maps as a form of expression of geospatial information, much favoredby the user, but also will become the most dynamic mobile applicationdevelopment field.Google’s Android is based on Linux kernel released open-sourceoperating system; it is first used in smart phones. Openness of the Androidoperating system, it is now used not only for smart phones, has been used incar navigation systems, tablet computers, cameras, laboratory equipment,and other fields.This article describes the Android operating system platforms, includingAndroid platform advantage, architecture and Android applicationdevelopment environment.The article introduces the Android platform, including the advantages andsystem structure of the Android platform, and Android applicationdevelopment environment.The article demonstrates the structure of mobile map query system, theclassification and principle of positioning technology, the relevant informationof Baidu Maps and the map service class of Android platform.The article analyzes the needs of the map service, and completes themodule design, running process design and user interface design.The article introduces the preparation of the system development, suchas the build process of the development environment and the way to get theBaidu API key. And, the article analyzes the structure of the system project.The view map is designed and implemented based on Android mobileplatform, and the map can also be amplified, narrowed and moved by theusers. Meanwhile, using the positioning technology, we realize the ego orientation, position query, and route planning and other functions. Theapplication can meet the basic map requirement of the users.
