Currently, wireless communication is the most prospective networking system including the rapid developing short-range wireless communication techniques. In the view of application environment and coverage, wireless communication system is approaching to indoor application. As the combine developing with internet, low power communication and integration technology, the advantage of short-range communications system is standing out, as well as its indoor application, which is an inevitable trend. For example, it contains RFID, Bluetooth, and IrDA.Considering the constraints of transmission distance and application condition, indoor wireless communication system is vulnerable to the practical environment effects. Therefore, how to improve the quality of wireless service is one of the most challenges in the short range communication.Compared with the outdoor condition, the shorter distance will result in the angle or arrival of waveform that cannot be neglected. The complicated environment also results in the fluctuating average receiving power of scatters. Reflect and deflect are becoming more and more severe. There is no appreciating indoor waveform propagation model compared to the mature outdoor model. As a result, the research on spatial characteristic of indoor wireless channel and is very necessary. It provides primary theory basis for the using system based on short-range wireless communication, and improves the coverage of indoor signal.Based on the above research demands, this paper is focus on the following contents:1. Analyzing the indoor multipath model based on the characteristics of indoor environment and outdoor channel model with the underlying on its spatial distribution features.2. Defining reading efficiency based on spatial distribution in order to comprehend the distribution of signal. Analyzing the RFID and application system in the indoor environment, and discussing the factors that affect the reading efficiency of RFID. Simulating the received signal amplitude and bit error rate based on antenna diversity technologies. Finally, based on the short range wireless communication technologies and the analyses of its application in the indoor environment, we will propose the multipath methods to analyze signal spatial distribution in the indoor environment. The theory analysis and computer simulations will be employed for analysis and validation.
