Manual monitoring wildlife for a long time is difficult in the wild environment, usually monitoring wildlife by placed monitoring equipment. Recording wildlife activity information and researching wild animal species abundance and activity pattern by the device, so as to formulate scientific wildlife protection mechanism. But existing wildlife monitoring devices exist slow processing speed, poor real-time, large power consumption, bad environmental applicability, and the authenticity and reliability of the collected data can not be guaranteed. With the rapid development of electronic technology in recent years, the technology of overcoming the insufficiency of the existing wildlife monitoring is more and more possible.This article is aimed at the deficiency existing in the wildlife monitoring system, and designs a kind of embedded wireless monitoring system which has long-term work ability in outdoor environment. The system uses the strong image processing ability of dual-core microprocessor chips NT96211, The the processor has both ARM9DMI and image processing capabilities; the system uses fast transmission speed, large capacity DDRII memory as the system working process data buffer space, operating system code and application code is stored in the NAND FLASH, and uses an SD card as a system image backup storage space; the system uses pyroelectric infrared sensor sensing infrared signal to trigger the system startup, and uses a CMOS image sensor for image acquisition, and the ultrasonic motor control focuses automatically when collecting images. The system selects GPRS module M10for wireless data communications, and sends the acquisition of image information to the user by way of MMS and e-mail. System power supply module uses battery-powered, supplemented by solar rechargeable battery power supply. In addition, the system is equipped uITRON real-time operating system which occupies small spare. The article expounded the main control chip module, data storage module, data acquisition module, wireless communication module and other functional modules of the hardware circuit design and the working principle. And introduces the system software development environment, development tools, system overall software design and software design of main function modules in detail.After the completion of the design of system hardware and software, the system main function modules and the whole machine are tested. The test result shows tl the various functions of the system can be achieved, to meet the design requireme of the users.
