The human tracking is an important part of human motion detecting and understanding, which has been more widely used in disaster relief, security and medical care. Nowadays, human tracking technology includes RF, ultrasonic, GPS, image based and active infrared measurement methods. For the factors of energy consumption, mobility limitation and etc., the methods mentioned above aren't suitable for some certain application environments. For example, GPS positioning can not be used in a room.With support of "the next generation broadband wireless mobile communication network" of the National Science and Technology major projects (2009ZX-03006-001-02), we explore a passive pyroelectric infrared sensor positioning strategy for wireless sensor networks (WSN). This method can accurately extract specific information to the human body, and the distinction between human and nonhuman perform well on moving targets.The main research and methods can be summarized as follows:1. Fresnel lens arrays are used to modulate the sensor field of view (FOV). We have explored different visibility coding schemes and sensor configurations& deployments. The location of human can be calculated through the data collected from the four nodes.2. This dissertation presents a wireless pyroelectric sensor system, composed of sensing modules (slaves), a synchronization and error rejection module (master), and a data fusion module (host), to perform human tracking. Algorithm trade-off between performance and cost, for real-time system implementation.3. By collecting and analyzing data, we verified the system performance and accuracy of tracking. Through relevant filtering methods, we processed tracking data and displayed filtered results.
