With the development of the times and the changes of the social environment,significant changes have taken place in the pace of people’s life. Nowadays, materiallife is greatly improved and people’s healthy demand strongly increased, which resultedin a large number of TV health programs. At present, there are more than one hundredTV health programs with different forms and various contents related different aspectsin China. They are broadcasted almost all the time from morning to night. They passedthe health knowledge and health concepts to the public through TV language. In thisway, the health quality of the public has been improved. After the reform and openingup, TV health programs heat up in China. It has been a very important way for thepublic to get health knowledge and preserving concepts. So it’s particularly important toinvestigate TV health programs in China in depth.This paper mainly investigated the TV health programs in recent30years in China.In the second chapter, the concept of TV health programs is defined from theperspective of communication. Through combing the history longitudinally, TV healthprograms in China can be generally divided into three stages: initial germination stage,rapid development stage and the calm thinking stage. The characteristics shown in everystage of TV health programs are inseparable from the development of China’s TVindustry. At the same time, we should clearly know that the rapid development of TVhealth programs is determined by the present social economy, politics, culture, mediatechnology and other factors. In the third chapter, being analyzed comprehensively, theTV health programs in China can be generally divided into three modes: story mode,interviewing mode and the entertainment mode. The writer selected three representativeprograms of the three modes, CCTV Traditional Chinese Medicine, Beijing TV YangShengTang and Hunan TV BaiKeQuanShuo, to analyze TV health programsspecifically from program form, structure, content and location.In the fourth chapter, the writer summed up the influence on the audience whenthey were broadcasted and summarized some common problems after analyzing thethree modes combined with specific programs, such as excessive entertainment, unclearposition of audience, a lot of false healthy information, limit of coverage and broadcasttime and lack of brand grogram and so on. In the fifth chapter, the writer stated someadvice on four aspects for the problems of the present TV health programs when theywere spread. First, improve the level of making programs and create inter-disciplinarytalents. Second, expand the audience market and disinter young audience effectively.Third, prevent false healthy information. Fourth, create the brand grogram and rely onnew media. The writer hopes this paper could provide some valuable reference for thefuture development and operation of TV health programs in China.
