At present, the problems of the environment deterioration and the energy crisis are veryserious, so it is our urgently demand to rediscover the less polluting and renewable energy. Withthe development of modern industry and the progress of science and technology, peoplegradually begin to pay attention to the study of electric vehicles. As the critical component of theelectric vehicles, the control system determines the performance of the electric vehicle.Therefore, the research of the control system has very important significance for thedevelopment of electric vehicles.A control system of electric motor based on PIC16F737MCU is introduced in this paper.The paper researches the brushless DC motor and designs the experimental vehicle. somefunctions such as regulation speed, speed limit and stationary speed are achieved. Less voltageprotection, current excessive protection and wrong angle protection are also designed.The main contents are as follows:⑴The paper has discussed the background of the topic and has given a brief introduction ofthe history of electric vehicles, the important components and the related technique. Then, thepaper has studied the motor structure, mathematic model and control methods and decided thecontrol strategy of the motor.⑵According to the control strategy and the function requirements, the paper has designedhardware circuit and software program in detail. The design of hardware includes MCU interfacecircuit, power circuit, detection circuit, driver circuit based on IR2110, inverter circuit andhardware protection circuit. The paper has provided the circuit diagram and the analysis of thedesign principles. The part of Software includes main program and interrupt programs, somedetailed flowchart of the modules were given.⑶Static and dynamic test of the control system were completed. Then, the paper hasanalyzed the experiment waves and the data from recording. Experiments show that the controlsystem has a good performance, meet the requirements, the devise have definite practical value.
