The application of acoustic emission in rock mass stability monitoring system can make theinstability of rock mass structure early warning. Some of the rock mass acoustic emissionmonitoring instruments have obvious use effect, and they have been developed successfully athome and board.Based on the mature theory of acoustic emission monitoring instrument, this paper putsforward a new design scheme and develops a portable intelligent rock mass acoustic emissionmonitoring instrument which has complete functions and stable performance.The control core of that instrument chooses STC89C58RD+of51MCU series because itsinternal resources meet the needs of the design. This article focuses on the construction of thehardware circuit and the writing of the software program. Finally, accurate acoustic emissionparameters are achieved through debugging.Hardware circuits are divided into two parts: analog and digital circuits. The filtering,amplification, acquisition, comparison and square of the acoustic emission signal are realized byanalog circuits in order to form the count of events and duties. Then, the counts are displayed onthe digital tube and stored in EEPROM, and SD card is used to store voltage signal samplingvalues. All of those are implemented by digital circuits.The control programs are divided into such modules for debugging: signal acquisitionmodule,8254counting module, storage module, display module. After each module isindependently correctly run, debug the summary of them, control the work of the instrument andobtain the results.In the end, the paper makes a summary of the design and puts forward improvements.
