The Application Of RFID Technology In Library

With the increasing development of the information age, the number of varioustypes of knowledge products and library collections bibliography increased sharply.Therefore, how the most effective use of existing library resources to serve the readersbecome the important issues for the current library, especially the school library. Withthe rapid development of RFID technology, its application in the library communityhave begun to hot. To the RFID-based library management system, there are manyadvantages compared to the traditional bar code and magnetic stripe-based librarymanagement system. And it has a wider range of applications. It is now the inevitabletrend of development to library upgrading.This study is based on the application of RFID technology in the field of libraryand do discussing, analyzing, summarizing, planning to the development of librarymanagement system in modern school library. And the existing library managementtechniques were demonstrated from multiple angles, and gives a reasonable planningprograms to bring new services to the reader. Comparison of RFID technology andother current library management technology, the thesis obtained the advantages ofRFID technology. The thesis analyzes and compares the existing RFID technology, andgive the library management system’s overall architecture and its hardware topologybased on RFID technology. And the thesis gives an optimized RF label positioningalgorithm in accordance with the specific application of RFID technology in librarymanagement system. What is worth mentioning is the problem of collisions as thecurrent constraints of technical barriers to the development of RFID technology, thethesis makes a detailed discusses and gives several possible cancellation algorithm, forexample, ALOHA method and binary search method, and their combination of bothalgorithms. Finally, with the developing of the current RFID technology and library, thethesis made a reasoned predictions and forecasts to the future direction of developmentof library management. It appears that it has been constituted to an organic librarymanagement system in supporting of RFID technology and combined with computernetwork technology, database technology, etc. It bring a new school library managementand operation mode, with the combination of these new technologies, the quality andefficiency of the school library management improved greatly.
