With the rapid development of economy in our country, the requirement on the quality ofproducts and components is higher and higher in the fields of the iron and steel, metallurgy,wind power, nuclear power, petroleum, chemicals, engineering equipment, aerospace and soon. The ultrasonic nondestructive detecting technology is very important and widely applied.It is tightly combined with the modern computer technology, automation technology and theinformation technology, which greatly improves the accuracy and reliability of the detection.Starting from the basic theory of the ultrasonic wave, this article did the research on thetheory of adopting the ultrasonic technology to realize the detection on the defects of thecomponents, and discussed the characteristics of various forms of echo ultrasonic waves thatdifferent defects correspond, and did a systematic analysis on the digitalized ultrasonicdetecting method and the equipment. It developed a set of digitalized ultrasonicnondestructive detecting system which realized the mixed scan on the component A,component B and component C. This system includes the3D motion control system, theultrasonic lunching and accepting system and the digitalized ultrasonic detecting softwaresystem, etc. It adopted the digitalized ultrasonic nondestructive detecting system that wasdeveloped to test the ultrasonic standard sample to confirm the accuracy of the digitalizedultrasonic detector, and adopted the water-immersed ultrasonic pulse echo method to doultrasonic detection on the large scale of the casting and forging samples and did a detailedanalysis and research on the detecting results. It separately did the automatic ultrasonicdetections on the samples of the continuous casting sheet billet, the cast iron and the deadhead of the roller, and got the characteristics of various forms of echo ultrasonic signals, anddid a contrastive analysis on the experimental results.The experimental results show that the digitalized ultrasonic detecting system that wasdeveloped can realize the automatic ultrasonic detection on the large-scale castings andforgings, and can ensure the accuracy and reliability of the results. When the ultrasonicdetections on different materials are being done, the parameters of the digitalized ultrasonicdetector shall be reasonably adjusted to obtain the accurate characteristics of the echoultrasonic signals. The characteristics of the echo ultrasonic signals that different defectscorrespond are different from each other.
