Jean Baudrillard,the man who was called "French McLuhan", was an eminentworld-class media theorists and critics, he opened up a new areas of thought research andmedia, and provides a new and unique perspective. The evolution of Baudrillard’thoughtundergo the media technology critical process in which symbol critical theory of symbolconsumption building cultural symbol critical theory and access the core which "the simulatedorder" regard as the axis,"simulacra, hyper-reality and implosion" regard as concept.Baudrillard thought mass media continuously produce kinds of simulacrum which createreality alternatives but can’t touch it in the development process. In the inner implosion, thesocial moved towards a simulated time dominated by symbols and images,where"hyperreality" instead of the real truth. Baudrillard has used the statement of communicationfanaticism to describe the characteristics of the times, in this era of illusion and realdifferences are no longer exist, replaced by the simulacra and verisimilitude.Though themedium thought extreme but there is no lack of pioneer and originality, especially in theaspect of revealing the real impact of the media technology, reaching keen insight andjudgment.He believes that with the continuous development of media technology, a largenumber of replicated high-tech product will derive "perfect crime" while bringingconvenient.In the criticism of media technology, Baudrillard, who is a regular technicalrepresentatives of pessimists went to the way of "technological determinism", for this weshould use the dialectical and critical view to look at his medium of thought.This paper bases on the analysis of Baudrillard’ original, settling era background ofmedia thought and theory origin, clarifying the process of its evolution and lastly makinganalysis and interpretation to its theoretical significance and limitations.Finally, aiming atpractical problems of Chinese media field, the author tried to use his media ideas to putsforward the practical significance.
